Do Hair Growth Tablets Work?
Introduction
There are many reasons for hair loss in both men and women, including temporary causes, such as stress, and more permanent reasons, such as male or female pattern baldness.
No matter what the reason, nobody likes to find out that their hair is falling out. As much as we'd like it not to be true, our hair forms a very large part of our identity and can affect the way we see ourselves.
Hair loss has always been a problem for men and women, which is why there has been a huge increase in products claiming to provide a cure.
Many of these products are approved by the FDA, but this does not automatically guarantee that they work. This is why this hub will be dedicated to looking at whether hair growth tablets really work.
Why Using A Hair Growth Tablet Could Help
The main ingredients of hair growth tablets are vitamins. The reason for this is quite simple - our body needs vitamins to be healthy, and our body must be healthy in order to grow healthy hair. Plus certain vitamins are more targeted towards healthy hair growth than others.
So, what vitamins do these tablets include? Here is a quick list:
- Zinc,
- Manganese,
- Iron,
- Sulfur,
- Selenium,
- Biotin,
- Vitamin B.
The truth is that we get many of these vitamins from our diet normally, but most of us don't get enough. This is why people choose to use a tablet as a way of giving their body and hair a boost.
For more info, try looking up some tablets online and checking their ingredients. You should always do this before you decide to buy.
Are They A Miracle Cure?
Whilst it's true that hair growth tablets can make your body and hair more healthy, the bad news is that they do not provide a miracle cure.
Get online and in hair loss forums and you'll find a lot of divided opinion. Some people do find that they help, but others don't. Some may also use this as a prevention for hair loss rather than a cure.
There are a lot of myths surrounding hair loss and hair growth, and it is also claimed that there are other things you can do to help your hair to grow:
- Massaging your scalp with olive oil,
- Eating more protein,
- Cutting hair to stimulate growth,
- And many more.
Conclusion
If you are thinking of using hair growth tablets, then always use a brand that has been approved by the FDA. This does not mean it will be a miracle cure for hair loss, but your body does need these vitamins to be healthy, so you could well see an effect.

Lady E - if they don't sell a specific one you can probably get one that has suitable ingredients. It doesn't work for everyone, but some people swear by them. I have seen in Holland and Barratt some of those blends that work for hair and nails I think, so you should have a look.

Hi, I agree with you when it comes to the causes of hairfall and that tablets sometimes work and sometimes don't work. Tablets didn't work for me. Instead I did the followin:-
1) Use Parachute Advansed Therapie Hair Vitaliser to control hair fall and make the hair stronger and thicker. Massage it on your scalp for 10 mins and leave it overnight.
2) Use a mild/herbal shampoo thrice a week and a reputed conditioner twice a week.
3) Apply the conditioner to the tips of the hair and not to the scalp.
4) Eat well and include fruits and vegetables in your diet. Avoid junk food.
5) Exercise, as it increases blood circulation to the scalp.
6) Relax and don't take stress as stress leads to hairfall. So sleep well.
